Refinishing Rims

OK, I have 18 inch silver alloy Giovanni Kohtos (or something like that) and they are kinda beat up (well not really, just that I am a perfectionist).

Anyways, I want to get them redone. I want them to look like new. No color change, just fix all the chips and scratches.

What are my options. Who does this type of work and how much does it cost.

I live in Westchester, NY so If you know someone around there who will do it let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Peace

OK...well i just did this 2 weeks ago...

check out

http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...hreadid=105104

i bought some 18's used with curb scratches and with the paint chippin...so..i needed to get them re-finished before i put them on..what they have to do is sandblast the old paint off, then use like a dremel or somethin to smooth out the scratches and then powercoat them again....heres my story. . . (i'll make it short)

So i went to the local popular import car store and asked if they would re-finish rims, they told me the only place in Kansas that would do it was the HUB CAP TIRE & WHEEL STORE...so i call theose guys up...they said $150 each wheel to powercoat and $200 each to chrome them + shipping to califorina....after doing somethinking, i looked in the phone book for a "powdercoaring company" and got intouch with one company what does custom hotrods and painting...he wanted $50 each...so i went with him.

He ACTUALLY told me, the $150 HubCap&WheelStore will charge u $150, then send your wheels to this other guy where he charges $50 and the HUBCap&Wheelstore keeps the extra $100 for profit....

Just somethin to think about before u go make the big step. . .

Sandblasting then powdercoating are your best options. Not cheap though.
