red maintenance indicator. i cannot reset
ok. i have 75k on my milage and my red maintenance indicator came on. i got my oil change and fuel injection since that was all i needed. now that i wanted to reset my indicator, it does not go back to green. even though i push the button with my key like 1000 times, it still wont go back to green. any thoughts?

With your engine running and the car in Park or Neutral, press and hold the indicator until it turns green.

Are you holding the button in or just pressing it?

To all the people who posted elaborate instructions on resetting it, it's not that complicated. It's just like the trip odometer. Just press it in with anything and it will reset.
To Babyloc: It's probably broken.

you may have to open your gauges, because that red indicator isn't a light, but a colored gear
the gear is hooked up to your odo, which goes every set amount of miles. the gear may be disconnected somehow.
it's an easy fix...if you lived in seattle i'd do it for you easily, but i'm pretty sure thats the problem
i've disected gauges numerous times, and know how the CL gauges work....swapping gauges all the time.
i've gone thru 3 sets
but yeah, that gear must be disconnected somehow, check it out.

Do what Homer Simpson would do and put a peice of tape over it - problem solved!

its because it turns red around every 7000 miles.. or around there.. so it shouldnt change exactly when u need a oil change
yeah.. im with danman.. open up your gauge cluster and see if the button is disconnected
this might help u out a bit![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
