Rear window tint

My CL came with window tint on the rear glass the rear quarter panel glass and both passenger and driver windows. The problem is that whoever put the tint on was either smoking crack at the time or just used crap tinting. I am wanting to replace this as soon as I can.

I went to one of the local car audio stores which also performs automotive tinting and was told that if I replace the rear tint there is a possibility that upon removal it could pull out the rear defroster wire elements. I think that I am going to check a few other places as well, but was just wondering if there was any truth in what I was told?

Thanks for your help,

Chong

Any place that knows what they're doing shouldn't have a problem removing the rear tint. It gets kinda expensive (I had idiots quote me $100 just to remove the rear tint alone), but its not that big of a job. It was kinda time consuming but it can be a DIY if you're patient.

Theres a chance that your defroster lines can/will be removed. So yes, theres some truth to it.

had the same kind of fogginess on my back window when i bought my CL cost $50 to remove so i could put some limo tint on the back 3 windows but yea they gotta be very careful removing what's on there that they don't mess up the rear defroster. shop around some more, shouldn't cost more than $50-75 for removal..
