Rear Lip FAIL

So I got my rear lip on last fri the place that I went to screwed in screw into my bumper through my lip. When I got home I took off most of the screws and found out that the place didnt use the 3M tape on the lip. I tried to use touch up paint to fix the holes and use 3M tape to put on the lip again but it bends and comes lose from the bumper. Any ideas how i can fix my lip, will have to mold my lip or cut it?

Why did you go home and take the screws out? Put the 3M tape on, then rescrew it as well. It should hold, you need to use both tape AND screws

deng jacob, that sucks bro! but yea why did you unscrew it? like blackack said, slap some 3M tape on and screw it back in! should work then! or take it back to your shop and make them do it!

i keep forgetting to ask...but i will make sure tomorrow to give him a ring bro. i'll ask about him painting your front lip. he can do it in a day. not sure if he knows how to mold, but at least figure out a way to stick that rear bumper on without screws and let it stay on for a long time

yea, the mounting job is pretty half assed, how come the side of the lip is angled?

^that doesnt flow with the lines of the bumper at all. Take it back and have them do it right. Also, the exhaust cutout looks too small, you might run the risk of melting your lip. Have them make it a little bigger then take it to a muffler shop and have them extend your muffler a little bit to make things look better.

definitely a half ass job with terribly cutting/measurements on the muffler opening

seems like they didnt trim enough out of the center of the lip so now you have gaps on the side, but yeah to hold that thing on nicely on the sides without screws you're going to have to get the bumper prepped real well with alcohol and use some very strong 3m tape

good luck with that

^^ I don't think they trimed the lip at all, I think that's why the sides are so off

Yeah. It looks like all they did was cut a little out for the muffler, then shoved the lip on.

in the past, guys have trimmed a couple inches out of the center, and shaped the lip to come more to a point, to follow the lines of the bumper, instead of being straight across. I'm following your progress very intensely because I'm trying to use the same lip

yea that's what klepto did! if you look at his rear lip (like blackack was saying) his comes to a point so that it's even on the sides and not like what yours looks like now

wow.. did they charge you for that? i wouldn't of paid them shit! they should of at least consulted with you before they decided to drill thru your lip & bumper. that's just f*cked up.. that's why if you want something done right now days you gotta do it yourself. anyways, to clear it up as it has been asked numerous times the rear lip is about 1-2 inches longer in length so for it to sit flush with our rear bumper and flow nicely it MUST be modified. as you can see from the pic they sorta had no choice but to aim the ends upward because if they aimed the ends downward then it would pop out in and leave a gap which the 3M double sided tape is not strong enough to hold. PLEASE don't go back to that shop jacob unless it's to get your money back. hit me up and i'll help you put that lip on

You should try to do this yourself. Just get the shop to cut the exhaust hole bigger.

You'll want to do it yourself so that you can line it up the way you want it. It's also not easy to get the lip to sit on your rear bumper perfectly without gaps.

I have the same lip and made a diy thread for the rear lip awhile ago. Search my posts if you want.
