RE: VSS vehicle speed sensor

Does anyone know if the 3.0 automatic cl has a vss, cause when i looked in the mitchell manual it said only for the manual transmission. the reason i am asking is because my speedometer and odometer aren't working, but do seem to work every now and then.any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

my speedo and odo went out a while back and I just got it fixed by replacing the VSS. I am of course a 5 spd 2.2, but Im sure that the 3.0's have one as well.

3.0 Autos
97 has a Vechical Speed Sensor (VSS). While in the 98, the vechicle speed signal is detected from the countershaft speed sensor and sent to the guage assembly by the PCM. Not sure about 99, but it's most likely similar to the 98.
