I have found that I have a rattle when my rpms hit about 1.75 when i am going slow. It sounds like it is comming from underneith the front of the car. Anybody know what this could be?

 

same thing here.....but mine does it anywhere between 10mph and 40mph.....

 

Yeah, i am not sure at what speed it stops at, but i find is usually happening when i am in either 3rd or 4th gear, which is not much cause i dont go slow in those gears, but if i am going up a hill in 1st or 2nd it will rattle at 1.75 rpms. I just bought the car, so i have 30 days to bring it in and have stuff fixed, so i will have them check that out.

 

it could be that something in your pipes are loose. my car was rattling underneath also from 1k rpms to 2k rpms and i went to themuffler shop. they sed that one of the inner pipes inside the main pipe was loose so i had them make me 2.75 in custom piping (whole mid section) and its gone!get it checked by your local muffler shop

 

yeah, i'll get it checked out in the next few weeks, just wondering if anyone else has the problem

If you have an aftermarket intake filter (or CAI im guessin), that might be the problem. mine rattles all the time at low RPMs, especially at stops and when the AC is on. You might wanna check that out, its annoying but a lil tap on the gas stops the problem for me.

 

Heatshield.

 

MileStone, is your car a 5sp? i know mine will make a rattle noise at low rpm when it's trying not to stall...used to do it all the time when i was first learning how to drive stick..especially on hills and speedbumps when its a lil harder to get it started

 

yeah it might be the heatshield

 

Yeah, its a 5spd, but its not about to stall when this happens.
