Radar saved me from ticket and suspension...
Short story:
At a red light, loud Camaro lined up and revvin', crappy alarm went off, Camaro took off spinning tires, 20 seconds later saw it pulled over by Irvine PD. Already got 3 points, one more would have been license suspension for 30 days.
Done! go back to watever u were doing.
Long story:
Tonight as i was getting home from the school's basketball field and stopped at a red light, a music blaring late 90s - early 2Ks model Camaro lined up next to me and started revvin'... it's LOUD as f*ck...
I was really gonna go for it, even though i have no idea how fast the camaro is... all of a sudden my usually useless Cobra radar came on and was beeping furiously (K & L bands - Laser). I drive on this road everyday so i know that there's no laser/speed enforcement here... the light turned green and the camaro took off, spun tires into second...
I was a bit weary so i didn't step on it, the camaro disappeared into the bushy bends... as i was casually cruising to the next light, the bastard was pulled over by Irvine PD
... The look on his face was priceless.
I can't believe my luck today: first i got $5 from Chris (thanks ) then my one of my classes was cancelled (it's a 5 hour lab), then later the alarm saved me from a ticket and license suspension. I already got 3 points within the last 6 months so one more point and i'm done for 30 days 
....

good stuff. Ive got 2 radar detectors (sometimes V1 doesnt pick up cops, yet to figure out why) but lord this thing has saved me a good $2k+ in tickets. Well worth the investment.
