Racing Pipes ?

Just found this and would like to know if anyone has one of these ? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1875714094 It's for the Honda accord but it should fit (I think) , Any ways this guy says that it would add 9-20 hp .. .. I dunno . .. Anyone have one of these ? Kinda fishy the guy makes it a private auction too . . .

I wouldn't get it. There is no way that it gives you 9-20 horsepower. Plus, in most states it's not legal to remove your cat. If you really want ti done, have a muffler shop replace your cat with a welded piece of pipe for like $20.

That thing is a joke. If you gain 2 HP you'll be lucky. I have a real racing cat made by OBX and I still didn't gain much if any improvement over stock. Any muffler shop can make you a test pipe for half that price. If you want to replace your cat then buy a test pipe at a muffler shop or buy a real racing cat.

Heres a pic of mine. It was like $40 or $50 shipped

Honestly I didn't see a big gain at all from the racing cat, nowhere near 9-20 hp. Seriously the only way I would see a racing cat gaining 20 hp would be on a turbo car like an rx7 or wrx etc... Turbos gain big hp like that from be able to flow more exhaust. But an NA car like the CL won't gain no where near 20 hp. If anything ask the guy to show you a dyno sheet to prove the gain.
Oh since they are no smog tests or any tests in Florida I've never had to take the cat off.

true my buddie got one for his supra turbo 1992 and he saw a big difference but turbo again need more air flow for better performance thus making the pipe better for them but in the cl, you cant gain much from it due to other items in the engine restricting it also, hey heres a thought, take off your resenator.

anyone here take off their resonator, i want to do it when i get the exhaust done, i am planning on getting dual one on each side manganflow 3" tips and i dont know if i want to cut off the resonator or not. the muffler guy that i know said it will be louder but i dont want the ricey sound.
