raced a few WRX'S

Last week I got in a few races with some 02ish looking wrx's.

First one was a wagon on the freeway. It was slammed, nice rims and fat exhaust. I gave him a rev cause I wanted to see how i'd do from a roll against a wrx. (not sure if he had any other mods) Right after I rev, he drops a gear and bones out! I was going about 65, holding 3rd gear in vtec, so I just punched it after him, but he got a huge jump. It took me a second to match his speed, but I surprisingly did. His early start gave him about a 1 car jump, but after that he wasn't going anywhere on me! Took it all the way to 120 then hit the brakes before the governor kicked in. He kept accelerating untill I couldn't see him any more Sucks cause I wanted to go from like a 2nd gear roll to find out if I could take him if we both started at the same time.

Next one was a silver sedan on the street right by my apartment, and my friend was driving my car. (he's in love with WRX's) We were looking over and there was seriously like 5 heads in the car! I figured this was perfect since he had alot of extra weight My friend revs it up and gets ready in 2nd gear. (not quite in vtec tho ) The wrx slows for a second and then we can see his huge FMIC then he revs back and we hear the loudest BOV of our lives :o Shit this is a mistake. He takes off before us, but it didn't really matter. That thing put about 2 cars on us in .2 seconds then he brakes and smiles at us. then takes off again. that thing was a beast! possibly a 12 second car I've never seen a car pull that fast in my life. (yeah I know I haven't seen that many cars pull) point is that it was wayyyy out of the h22's league and we felt kinda dumb for fucking with it. oh well, it was fun to hear his sick ass BOV

damn I want to find a stock wrx and race it from a roll I know I'll loose from a stop (if they drive decent), but from the race with the silver wagon on the freeway, I think I could beat or at least stay even with a stock wrx from any roll.

really? wow maybe that wagon had more than just exhaust then. ? I still think I would have beat him by at least a car if we went at the exact same time. Cause for me to actually match his speed when he came from already going faster than me to downshifting before me= i would have pulled him in 3rd.

I want to race a stock one from a stop too just to see how bad the AWD will own me

A boosted box is something to stay away from unless you got a built turbo motor. I hate the sound of subys tho.

Hey ryan, believe it or not, but the wagons are fater stock than the sedans. They weigh less, hehe, not many people know that. You wanna come out to Diamond bar this weekend? I'll try to get the 2 Wrx's out for ya to run.

damn are you serious the boxer is probably the best sounding engine (at least out of 4cyl's), ive never been in a car that gets more compliments on how it sounds then when ive been in my brothers or his friends wrx....besides the fact that our friends sounds like a fighter jet when it drives by.

The boxer rumble ownz j00.

If you don't like the sound, get tubular headers...the rumble goes away. Too quiet for my liking though. Got lots of buddies with WRXs/STi's...More than likely the path I'm going.

But it's a love hate, there are a ton of people out there that hate it. I love it, same w/ the porsche motors. Most people hate it.

The wrx has a boxer style engine. That means horizontally opposed right? Same as what porsche uses. I think a WRX with a sweet exhaust sounds REAL BAD ASS. I wish that my CL could sound like that

really? My Car and Driver mag says they are lighter (by 50lbs). Well you know how that goes, every mag has different specs by just a tad bit....
