raced this accord yesterday...
both races were from a stop. that's my friend's 99 accord v6 with intake and dual exhausts btw. first race, i launched good and got him by around 3 cars by 3rd gear and it was over. second race, it was around 2 cars. by mid 3rd gear, he was slowly catching up but we had to slow down coz. there was a stop light ahead. i think if we would have gone on, he would have passed me up. at least i beat him until 3rd. i was pretty surprised though. dont the accords v6 have the same engine as the cl 3.0?

yeah, the 3.0's & Av6 are SLOW off the line. They usually catch up by the middle/end of 3rd gear tho. You must have had some sweet launches! Good kill

Yes its a auto, but there is noway a 2.2/2.3 is holding me off until 3rd gear, I would doubt it could hold a 3.0 through 1st gear.

I posted a thread a while back when I raced my friends dads 3.0 and I took him by a car till 70, then by 90 he was like 2 cars ahead. That 3.0 was bone stock. I didn't have that great of a launch tho, and I had 18"s then.

yea, the av6's are slow off the line. all this talk about not being able to even keep up with a 3.0 off the line makes me want to race one. anyone wanna race? hehe. i know on the highway, it's no game, but from a stop to 3rd or 4th, it's possible like ghander said.

However, I do believe one beat me off the line, but by the time I hit 2nd (or 3rd--I don't remember), I was ahead.

yeah, i'm not saying the 2.x will beat it, or even hang till 90, but even with equal mods, they should hang till 60-70 if they are driven well.
They should jump a few cars pretty easy through 1st gear, and then the 3.0 reels it in the rest of the race

I'm running an 18 second 3.0....and that's on a 30 degree day!
I hope those boys at v6 get that auto tranny finished and fine tuned. I'd like to get more horsepower to the wheels

As soon as my Stone headers are done getting installed we'll meet up. K.o.r.e motorsports is installing them and the headers are being a bitch. They need cut and extended in 2 spots and cut a rotated in 2 other spots. Im waiting on piping from cali to come in right now.
