quietest muffler ever?

ok, i am way too sick of my loud ass exhaust. (loud hum on freeway plus getting puller over) I want to know if changing the muffler could make it any quieter? Or if theres any hope. i have 2.5" piping all the way from the cat, and i don't really want to change it.

A stock muffler would be impossible since the piping won't match up, right? (2.5 vs stock?) Also that would be way restrictive, kinda like now with my gay silencer in.

So what do you guys suggest? Whats the quietest muffler I can buy? thanks, ryan

BTW-the one i have now is just an ebay universal (fireball style)3.5"tip, and although it sounds loud as f*** it also sounds really clean. no :ghey: ricer sounds. (like a swarm of killerbees)

all you need to do is get a resonator inbetween you cat and muffler and it will quiet it down and cost little

That won't help very much. If you look at our resonators, its nothing more than a little swelling in the pipe...does jack shit.

does your current muffler have a thin tip? I have a power tech universal mufler but my tip is so thick that it's machined out towards the end so theres a real deep low sound to mines. a lot of my friend says that mines sounds like a greddy.

flowmaster, go to their website, and you can compare the level of loudness, otherwise go with stock muffler.

i guess i'm kinda fucked then. i don't have my stock muffler anymolre, + it would be pretty restricted anyway.

I really don't like the look of the flowmaster mufflers, but thanks for the response.

The tip is pretty thin, i want a gredy muffler or something close because my friends accord has the greddy full catback and it's the perfect sound. He has the resonator in tho, and it makes it kinda restricted.=slow

Yeah yeah, your right, i've never heard flowmaster on our car, but i just think they should stick to dumbestics.

i'msire it doesn't sound too bad tho, because there are a few on here that have it,( ithink 3 or 4 now) but i really don't like the way the muffler looks, JMO.

I heard flows on a v6 accord and it sounded :tits:

personally i'm going back to my stock piping, but that's 2.25" stock on the 3.0 I belive. I'm gonna take out the resonator in the stock exhaust though to see if it gets a better sound

deep. you won't get a rice rocket sound from good name brands like greddy and HKS.

I'd stay away from OBX...they're loud. Apexi is too depending on what you get.

the WS is quiet...N1 is loud.

They make one with a single 2.5 tip out. I dunno if u like that or the two smaller ones. They come in a bunch of different styles.

if you keep you stock setup, flowmaster is nice but magnaflow is way better

they are the quietest muffler on the market but still provide the HP to go with it without the raspy sound

SOOdark i send you a pm

it kills power man. i've raced my friends 98 accord, with the exact same mods as mine, (except he has a resonator) It was dead even off the line and halfway through second, theni just started pulling away I had 2 cars on him by 90. Tried this multiple times. Our cars both have the same f23 with exact miles on them. I am even heavier than him with my 2 12"s.

Blurry, we shouda raced that night when i bought your SS

actually from what I understand and reading what Mark was saying the other day the resonator shouldn't be killing much if any power at all. Anyways, it's not like exhaust is giving you much more power to start with, it's more for looks at the stage of mods you are at.

Also, your car is about 200 lbs lighter then a 98 accord from what I remember. But even then, even 2 identical cars one is usually faster then the other. It's similiar to how 2 identical cars usually don't throw down the same dyno #'s.

i just looked it up, and the
98 accord ex weighs 2,976,
98 2.3cl weighs 3,062

i'm aware about all cars being different and everything, but i'm pretty sure this was the deciding factor in this race. I think the resonator would make a decent difference, because it's similar (not = to) when i put my silencer on. The car lags like no other. No back pressure at all.

well anyways to put 2 cars at 90 is a good amount. That's about half a second in the 1/4 at the mid 15's - 16's you'd run. That's to much of a difference for just the resonator to be making.

btw, reply in the meet thread homo :P
