quick easy q

for those of you with a 3.0 auto ..... if your gunning it, when does it shift?

I recently changed my tranny fluid and now it shifts at 6,500 .. i could have sworn before it was at 6k flat.

is this a bad thing having the extra 500RPM for the motor?

I don't have an auto trans, so i don't know when the shift points are. But anyways, i don't think that your shift points would have changed for any reason, because they are controlled by a variety of electrical sensors and are not really mechanically controlled. Such as speed sensors, rpm sensors, engine sensors and so on. Unless your old tranny fluid was like jello or something, then the shift points should be the same. As for the extra 500rpm, it won't really make a difference. It will very very very slightly affect your valvetrain components, but putting extra strain on them, but the effects will be negligable. So don't worry about 500rpm.
