question about power steering

For the last month the power steering on my car seems to have taken a vacation. At really slow speeds it takes a lot of strength to turn the steering wheel and most of the time I have to use two hands to take turns and steer it. I just the tiny power steering reservoir and filled it up as much as I could with fluid, but nothing seemed to happen. What else could this be? Could the p/s pump be messed up?

it could be the pump taking a dump on you. I'd try flushing out the fluid completely and refilling it.

maybe your belt broke.....when my belt broke on a previous car, the steering was fine at speeds of 40MPH+ but at slow speeds it was like hell....its tricky on cars these days b/c most cars are built with speed sensitive steering in addition to the power steering.

It's probabaly the pump. Check to make sure that power is getting to it. Otherwise, time for a new one.
