question about nitrous

Ok obviously from asking this, I hardly know anything about nitrous so please hang with me. I wanted to find out like everything I would need to put nitrous in my 97 3.0. I'm thinking I'm gonna get the zex 75 shot dry kit. I'm not sure if I need to do anything else with the intake or anything before I can install it and have it run properly. And finally, how is this going to affect the life of my engine and tranny? I know its hard on the tranny but I don't know a lot but I don't know if it makes a difference if its only a 75 shot and that I have 100000 miles on my car.

Thanks everyone for bearing with me on this, its probably been answered many times, but I couldn't find much in search.

get a hayden only tranny cooler or a tru cool tranny cooler, they are the best, it will run you about 49.99 to about 69.99 depending on the sixe

you can install one in about an hour if you know what you are doing and have the tools

Be careful with that nitrous. Run conservative and get a tranny cooler. I've heard many are running zex dry setups with much luck. If you don't need a large shot, that would be a good way to go.

i would only run ZEX it is the safest by far and only engages when you are WOT

dustbuster was running a 75 shot dry zex kit and he had no problems now he is on a new engine that he bought and running a new setup with a wet kit from zex and loves it

i would only run a 50 shot if there and run it safe and long

BTW since your name is frankthetank youve got to get a avatar with Frank the Tank from Old School with him streeking or something like that

Can you give me an estimated quarter time for a stock 3.0 with a 75 shot dry zex kit and a tranny cooler?

and completely off topic do you have to have a picture posted on a site in order to use it as an avatar? I have a picture on my cpu thats perfect.

i would stick to wet kits, far safer as you dont risk detonation as long as the initial set up is correct.

you can host the pic on the web and link to it.

a stock 97 3.0CL with a 75 shot (zex dry kit) should run about 14.5@94 or so mph

That's about what I ran (maybe a little faster with a CAI). I can't find my time slip.
