pulleys and cat back
pulleys and cat back
ok, what are the best pulley to pick up, i have seen unorthodox so far to be the consensus. Also where to get them, for the 98+ cord right? Any one know hp gains?? Also what exhaust do all the 3.0 guys mod to get the cat backs, being apexi, greddy what have you.. Is it the 97 cord, or the 2.3???? Letta me know.............
aem and ur are the same unless u get the ur kit with the crank pulley. that is the reason why they net mote hp is cuz aem only makes the p/s and alt pulley, becuase there can be neg effect when u change ur crank pulley. somethin with the balancer shaft
I've had no problems with my aems either. LIke I said before, they are just a bitch to install, but other than that, I like 'em. And, not alot of people have this mod, so, it's kind of unique. The ones you'll need are for the 98+ v6 accord (#23-7019). You can expect around 5-10hp depending on mods. Again, its one of those things that adds more power with the more mods you got. It looks cool under the hood too!
I had some underdrives on my old pickup. I had a high output audio system (800 total watts) and would get dead batteries all the time. Actually ceased my alternator once. A high output one was the only solution. So, if you got a system and are planning on getting underdrives, be sure to up the output of your alternator (if you haven't already)!

do those AEM pulleys void warranty? also, how much for a bigger alternator? what size is big enough? what is the stock size of the alt? and whats the exhaust all the 3.0s use? is it ricer loud or nice and deep, i dont like the ones that sound like they are redlining their engine when they are just doing the speed limit, is it hard to make dual exhaust with custom piping? and how does the dia. of the pipes work bigger piping means lower tone and less HP or smaller piping etc. etc.

Personally i picked up a universal muffler at a shop in Dallas. I had them remove the resonator and run 2.5" pipe all the way back to the muffler. It is kind of loud (ricey) w/o the resonator, but I dig it. I honestly don't know if I got any more gains by removing it, but logic says the fewer things you have to reduce flo, the more power you should get. Cost around $250 w/ install. As for bolt on kits, do a search, cuz I have no clue. (Hope that helps a lil). As for the alternator bit, a lot of people upgrade to about 180amps (cost around $175). I think the stock is pretty weak (about 105). Search for alternator in the 1st gen forums, it too has been discussed many times.
My probr is that i don't want a universal muffler...i want something tht works with the stock hangers, cuz they just look so much cleaner. If i could get an apexi cat back, use the resonator and most of the piping, i would be happy. I just need to know what exhaust people have been modding that fits on our cars....hopefully someone will read ths and help me out
