EIther way it won't be that noticable once inside the headlight housing, but I am not offended by it. I done said it before and will say it again, retrofit FTW!

sup blenz... its quiet simple, anyone that can do a custom turbo kit can surely do this. haha... hows your car coming along?

my turbo is gonna have to wait. i cant take the risk right now if the car goes down.

Ya, I could probably do it myself if I had the time but school is killing me. I haven't had a chance to make any progress on the turbo set-up but I finish finals in 3 days and I'll see what I can do when I come home for christmas. How close are you to being done the retro-fit?

Just my personal taste but I like without the belt, I like that machine look. You know, show the bolts and screws of certain parts.

its a good thing you scrapped it, as it doesn't really flow well at all (the ribs on it)

that was my main dillemma with this retrofit, since I wanted to keep the headlight housings in pristine chrome form instead of blackhousing, I'm pretty much forced to go with e46 shrouds, which cost more than I paid for the entire xenon setup itself

what do you guys think of getting a basic "frame" for a shroud, and then doing some bondo work to dress it up?
i'm pretty decent with bondo, but i dont know how it holds up to heat

bondo = no go with that kind of heat

I believe fiberglassing is ok though, as I've seen some custom fiberglassed shrouds before

then you can fill in the gaps with spot putty

the trim to hide the screws is a nice touch, however you need to think if it will with stand teh heat that they output.

your housings will get really hot from the projectors, I recommend a hole on the bottom of the housing to vent out some of the air
