Pre winter project

Winter is almost here. Soon it will be time to remove the 18s and throw on the stock rims. I think it will be cool to paint them. They really look like shit the way they are. Scratched, scraped and paint it faded. I havent really decided on a color but I will need to start this project next week. I was thinking sanding them down one at a time. Primering them painting then clearcoating them. This is what I think i should do. I'm afraid of the paint chipping. I would also like for the finish to last as long as I maintain it. What do you guys think?? How should I do this?

step1) bring wheels to metal restoration place

step2) leave metal restoration place

step3) call the guy repetitively because he wont call you and give you updates

step3) repeat for 3 weeks because the color that I picked was out of stock (dark gold flake)

step4) pay the man and bring the merchandise back to the house

i paid 440 bucks for the rims to be resurfaced and coated.

i forget how much I payed for the grille, but i had a grille powdercoated as well,

the guy also polished my spinners and made them look brand new.

i have fresh ventus tires on the stockers, but the car is not insured so i wont be driving

it, i suggest that you save your money, buy a beater 200-600 bucks to drive around

and save money on insurance, i love the feeling of being able to drive the car into a

wall and not really be at a loss. shit, i've spend at least 10 times as much as i spent

on my beater as i have spent on modding my acura. EDIT: buying mods for my acura:

about 75% of my mods are sitting in my garage or basement

Ive had my wheels powdercoated before. I looked in the yellow pages under "powdercoating" and found a few places. I called around and acutally fould a place that only charged $50 per wheel (18") So it was only $200 to get my 18"s re-painted. He handed my a thick ass ppg/house of colors book and said "pick any color"....it was sweet.

BTW: make sure you call around because theres one store here called "The Hubcap, Tire, & Wheel Store" and they wanted $150 each wheel...then thats when i called this other business and they wanted only $50 per wheel. When I dropped my wheels off to get them painted, i told them about the "hubcap" store that wanted $150 and they guy told me that he does the "hubcap stores" work.

They charge you $150 and then take your wheels to the guy I went to who only charges $50....So make sure you call around
