Power Seat Track swap.

Power Seat Track swap.
My power seat on my 97 3.0 CL has gone sorta out. It works perfectly on all other directions but doesn't even make a sound to go forward and clicks to go back. I am pretty sure the seat is all the way back. I went to Acura and they said it is the front
(forward and backward movement) motor on the seat track. They wanted $980 to replace the entire seat track. They also don't sell just the front motor and I haven't been able to find one or the entire seat track for the CL anywhere. I also heard that replacing that front motor is hell and it is just as expensive but easier just to buy the entire seat track. My question is, what power seat tracks will work with the CL?
obviously the Accord seat track will work but I never found one. I found a brand new Honda Odyssey power seat track for $325.

Would that work? It looks the same.

im pretty sure even the top EX-L accords back in our day (the CL's Days) didnt even have the option of power seats....... thats all I got... mine is kinda the same way, except for me its the rear Up/Down motor that moves the back half of the seat up and down.......... just gives me an excuse to put in my Recaro
as for your link go to a place like a dealer website and check the part number for the CL, if it matches this P/N then youre OK, if not... well you can try but I cant make any promises

You can use the accord assembly for a direct replacement. I went through this myself not too long ago. It actually isnt hard at all to replace just the front motor. You have a couple of "bitch" pins you need to tap out so you can drop the front half of the assembly.
I swapped with a used motor and still had the same problem.
The easier thing to do - but you may balk at - is to pick up the manual slider assembly for a honda accord. I've looked over the parts and both seats use very similar cushions, if not the exact ones - with the same mounting points.
All you do is convert you power seat to manual - sure you lose power functions, but you never have to worry about the motors failing again.
I'm doing that to mine later this year. In the meantime, I just pulled my front motor, and manually adjusted the slider forward to a comfortable position, then disconnected the motor so I dont accidentally slide it backward.
Let me know if you need more info, I still have the donor seat I can take pics of.

Another Seat Question Help!
Ok, so I just found a 97' TL driver power seat for $80 and I need it for my 97' CL. I called Acura and they said that the model number for the power seat tracks are different and might not fit or work. What do you guys think, will it fit?

Sorry bout that Duck. Just found out that the TL seat is a no-go. Looking for junk yards with no luck so far. Ill get my lazy ass to a junk yard this weekend so hopefully that will go well. Never thought the power seat track would be so expensive/hard to find!

GREAT NEWS! I just received a power seat track from a 97' CL from a junkyard for $150!! Best yet, IT WORKS!!! Now I just gotta clean it up, attach it to the seat, bolt it in, and FIN! I'll finish that tomorrow tho, It's really late. Heres some pics.
Just like it looks, it's a little weak and loud as hell. I try not to move it too much but I did use some lithium grease which helped it a little. I'll post the finished pics tomorrow.

Woa! Forgot all about this thread. Well, I did finish the power seat track swap with great success! Works great. Forward,Backward,Tilt,up,down. It doesn't go as high as the other one for some strange reason. Wish I wasn't so short.
Also, as you can see, my steering wheel is kinda ugly. Anyone know of a nice woodgrain steering wheel cover? I think I've see a few on the forum.

You have a 97 steering wheel, which makes swapping steering wheels harder, you're better off just getting a cover like mine or subbuzz's
Subbuzz got a wood one from walmart, took me 25 mins of searching, but found pics

Is it possible to put a passenger side seat onto the power tracks? My driver side seat has a couple of tears in it, and was wondering if i could either swap my own passenger seat or buy another one. Also is it possible or doable to just swap the leather from seat to seat? THanks
