power driver seat doesnt move forward

i remember when i first got this car, there was a link on another forum (which i am no longer a member of). there was some issue with the power driver seat not working. does anyone know of this?

if not, does anyone know why this wouldnt work? the top of the seat works just fine. also, the back part of the bottom seat works and goes up and down.
the part that doesnt work is forward and backward and the fron of the seat up and down...

not my car shown here, but these is what i am talking about. what isnt illustrated works fine..

dunno dude, maybe the motor is fried. so much for power accesories, they tend to go bad after 11 years

Same issue I was gonna ask too. I was thinkin if the motor is fried then why would the other movements of the seat work? Or is it different motors for each motion?

Dont know man, but i'd check the usual things first when the electronics screw up, fuses.

i highly doubt there is 8 motors under the seat for each motion. but maybe i am wrong. does anyone have a diagram of under the seat that shows the motors and what they are used for? this might be very helpful....

There are several, but not 8. I think there's like 4. Cocoa posted a pic of the underside of the seat a while back, search for it.

i replaced my motor. For the record in that picture above its the top one. It was not easy, and it is not a seperate part you can pick up from the dealer. They will sell you the whole underside of the seat for 1k.

Whatever you do, if you find someone to give you their motor, do not take it apart. Its very hard to put an electric motor back together.
