What are the positives of doing an obd1 conversion?

Pro: You can run a chipped/programmed ECU.
Con: Only uses 1 O2 sensor and the OBDII diagnostic plug won't work, so you cant pass emissions in some places. Also, by the time you add up the ECU, chip, tuning, harness, and other rewiring that is necessary, it is really expensive. EMS would be cheaper.

There is no reason to do it unless you have serious mods and need a fully tunable ECU, and then the EMS would be a better option.

Converting to obd1 is easy. Get an obd2 to obd1 jumper $250; obd1 ecu $200; socket and program, mabey $50. An EMS could cost up to $1500.
