Please Please Help Me

Hello everyone. I have a PROBLEM that I need answers to ASAP.

I'm buying a CL TYPE-S from Arizona. The ladie that is selling the car has a Dealers License. I live in San Diego, California. The ladie that owns the CL-S is charging me sales tax there in Arizona. But I'm registering the car here in California. My question is...

If I pay the SALES TAX in Arizona do I have to pay TAXES AGAIN when I register it here in Cali?! Or do I just pay for the registration etc fees when I register the car here?!?!

I need help because I just payed Tempe Acura $345.00 to have the whole car inspected today engine and all. Booked a one way flight from Arizona to San Diego on Sunday already AND already have the Cashiers Check from bank. I'm ready to buy this car but don't want to if I pay taxes twice! Please please any help would be much much appreciated.

Sales tax only applies in the state where you made the purchase. If the DMV gives you shit ask to talk to a supervisor. You'll have to pay the fees which are steep in CA, but no way do you have to pay sales tax on a purchase made in AZ.

thats not exactly true, sales tax on cars applies for where you live at, because my cousin bought a 06 rsx near me and sales tax is 6% but he lived in philly so he got chared 7% sales tax

i dunno about places where tax varies within the state. . . that might be more complicated. i don't think california has authority to charge tax on a purchase made in arizona. it kinda violates the constitution's provisions about inter-state commerce. although that might all change if the whole internet sales tax bs passes.

I would call the DMV to get a real answer. Thats when you would be charged the tax if at all.
