simple, i took off the extra wires (ones with the blue connections), plugged the og power supply into the ballest, i used a tie wire to keep it on and just hooked the other 2 connections together and thats all. less then 20 min.

you two should buy upgraded wire harnesses so that you can hook it up directly to the batt, I wouldnt want you guys frying your stock 9006 harnesses when you warm them up

i saw the purple ones on the road recently and I though it looked cheesy. I've never seen any factory purple HIDs. I also just read a consumer reports article that made HIDs not really seem that good anyway. Here it is csr on HIDs . It was written in 03 but it brings some good points to light. Mainly that the most important criterea of headlights is straight ahead viewing distance (not side) and that HIDs aren't really any better at that, and may be worse.

To clarify I don't want to hate on the guys that have them because I think they look cool when I see them on the road. But for the people thinking of actual performance / $ it seems like it may not really do much other than make your lights look more up to date and blind the shit out of other drivers.

are you kidding me? you come to my house and i will show you how much it affects foward viewing... i tried driving my lil bro's 626 the other night and i couldnt see crap with those halogens. ive got 5000k hid's in the CL, strictly for the light output (no bling purple or 'cool lookin' blue) which i would say is a HUGE amount more than halogen. at 200 bux for a set of bulbs and ballasts with intergrated ignitors, its worth the money if you ask me.

also, in that article they attack the color of hid's as the culprit for glare, but that is totally up to the person buying the aftermarket bulbs. they also make a supposed comparison of halogen vs. hid and only talk about the cutoff? thats all the projector.... where do halogen projectors or hids with reflectors fit in? if you want your light for foward viewing then put in the hids in your standard reflector and start pointing it further foward with the adjuster nob thing. i personally love the light output of projectors though, driving a tsx you never have to wonder about whats coming up ahead when doing fast night-time cornering.

this may be a jewb question... but
can you change the color of output by changing the bulb? or do you need a whole new set of ballasts?

if you already have HID's you can just get a new set of bulbs with a different kelvin rating.

I could be wrong but I believe he bought the kit from me. If so it is a KAIXEN HID Kit. Here is the link: https://acurazine.com/forums/sponsored-sales-group-buys-10/kaixen-hid-kit-groupbuy-330409/

this might be a stupid question, but is it true that HID's in some states are illegal and are only legal if they are stock from the factory. I just heard a rumor about that.

i believe 4300k and 6000k are legal anything colored is illegal. it doesn't matter the car it matters the color. dont get me wrong you will get pulled over if you install improperly and your 4300k or 6000k hid's are blinding oncoming traffic.
