PICs!! Almost done with trunk....

Well, it's been a while since I've posted results on the progress, so here's a couple. Go down to the bottom of the page (Last 10 pictures)

While I was doing the trunk, I went ahead and got a Pioneer 6500 in dash mobile video....touchscreen baby!!

Please post comments - suggestions, criticisms....

Oh, and the un-carpeted piece of MDF will be carpeted and also have a piece of plexiglass in it to show off the nitrous...I'm thinking about getting some smoked plexi for that.

You've Come a long way. The DC Sports Headers add a nice touch

I like how your engine bay looks when its clean. I think you need

a few more touches to finish up your car. A new exhaust (unless

u like the one u have on now), a JDM head gasket cover thing...

and maybe a slicker looking shift knob, u know something a little

shorter. the golf ball shifters on the VWs are cool looking. why dont

u look at one of those, them thangs are cheap. Also a Titanium Dash

would finish it up. All in all. I REALLY dig your car. And i dont really

like the V4 version of our car unless its manual. Keep it up dood.

(PS, wheres the momo stuff? didnt like the sounds it gave u ?)

thanks guys....i can't wait either to see the finished product. As for the new exhaust, if you look around the middle of the page, it shows that I've got a new exhaust on it....magnaflow baby! Nice and quiet.

I loved the sound from the polk momo, but it's in my girlfriend's car now. I wanted to 12s instead of one, and I hated the setup. I knew that it was going to be an intermediate setup. This trunk setup allows me to have trunk space and looks nice a clean.

I like the shift knob....it's a JDM ITR shift knob. However, I really need to shorten it A LOT.

I have been considering a different center console, but the only problem is that I dont think it would look good with the light tan interior and the wood grain....i dunno. I'll have to invest some time in thinking about it more.

Thanks for all your input. Keep suggestions rolling in!

Ahh yes, original dynamat...i used a heat gun and also the back of a screwdriver. rub down the trunk with rubbing alcohol. Cut the dynamat to size. Take your heat gun or hair dryer and start heating up the dynamat. Then lay it down. Using the screwdriver, push in wherever there's a crack or a crease (makes sure that there's a good contact. If you're still having problems, then get yourself some spray adhesive.

its too bad that youve mounted the bottle the wrong way...and its unfortunate that you couldnt deisgn it so that it was in the center of the trunk. BUT, on the brighter side...its awsome to see some more DIY's out there! check out my www for trunk pics of stuff i did myself too!

he means, its facing the wrong way.

i didnt know that the 2.3-2.2 cls are inline 4's ...

my pop had the m roadster it was a inline 6. that thing pulled.

he now drives a 03 m3 white/black conv. its much nicer than the

mroadster. So, what are your opinions on the WW Spoiler?

The wood trim isn't what i was suggesting, If you wrap your wood

grain in vinyl or leather and put in an aluminum dash kit and shorten

the shifter.. i think ur car will b even more tits. its kind of like your

the Dust version of the 4 cylinder being that your green and all

hmm...wrapping the trim could be interesting. Color choices anyone?

Haha, that's pretty funny. Actually, Rick's car is a lighter green than mine. I'm hoping that he'll be able to come out to the meet this weekend and then i can show the different colors, and maybe get some more suggestions from the DC area folks

^- yeah hes got a point, ditch those fog lights unless they are

attached to ur hip (meaning ur in love with them).

I say you wrap the trim in a drk green similar 2 ur whip.

maybe paint your plastics. but i dont know how that'd turn out.

never gave so much input 2 ones car.. but jamolie is correct in my

eyes, his car was sick, peep out his www. i think this dude has

some serious taste. and u didnt answer, what do u think of the

wings west wing?

Adam,

Looks great!

As far as the nitrous bottle, you got it pointed the wrong direction. You want the top of the bottle facing towards the front of the car. This way the tube that's inside the bottle can reach the very last "drops" of liquid nitrous that remains at the bottom. This is important while accellerating. The nitrous will be forced towards the rear of the car when you stomp on the gas.

It's like the concept of using a straw to get at the last of your soda in the bottom of the bottle. The tube in the nitrous bottle not only goes down near the bottom of the bottle, but also towards the bottom rim of the bottle.

I'll know by Thursday if I can make the meet.

Looking good. Make sure to run some fans since you have the amps mounted under the false floor.

thanks for all your inputs guys...definitely take them into consideration. Rick - I'll have to see if the bottle will actually fit going the other way...i didn't completely understand what d5c5b was talking about. Now i do.
I dont particularly like the WW wing - i'm actually probably going to buy the factory spoiler soon.
baka_t - already planning on mounting fans either under the amps or on the sides of the amps
dragon - yeah, i'm kinda attached to the fogs...only prob is that one of them is completely busted out (nice hole in the housing), so I might have to sacrafice them soon.

I have never heard that about nitrous and I don't know if I really believe it. It's a pressureized gas, it's going to go wherever the tube is feeding it

As long as the bottle is facing towards the ground it shouldn't matter.

I've seen many nitrous setups with the top of the bottle facing the front of the car . What about mounting the bottle up and down instead of flat ???

That's what I said.

The top of the bottle should face the front of the car. NOT like CLTECH has his bottle (the top facing the rear of the car).

Nitrous is pressurized gas as it exits the bottle, but is liquid when in the bottle.

Here's a better explanation of how the bottle should be mounted: http://www.zex.com/support/Instructi...nstall_005.pdf
