performance vs. aesthetics

What do you guys think? I have a '99 2.3 with the mods listed. Should I go for rims and bodykit or suspension, exhaust, headers? I've heard people mention pulleys/cams too. So many mods....so little time. Help me out.

Sounds like you have a little of both performance and aesthetics right now.

IMO......you should just continue along that path. Like exhaust & wheels. You really can't go wrong with anything you listed.

I would do suspense and some rims, then some more performance stuff. You should pass on the body kit considering 1) they dont make a kit for the cl, at least not right now, and 2) If you were to use an accord it you have to do some modifications, which could be a pain in the ass.

I would have to agree. Doing some aesthetic mods like lowering and/or rims will be pleasing not just visually, but also for handling and overall fun.

i agree and diagree... I say get the lowerinbg kit but not only for asthetics.. Your car with sway bars, springs and shocks will turn on a dime!!!! I say go performance first.. BE A SLEEPER... or a gradual mix like I did.. Now I am asthetically complete and need headers/exhaust to be complete for now...

Originally, I had planned on exhaust/headers being my next mod. Now you guys may have convinced me to go for suspension first, then rims. That will add both handling improvements and style. Thanks for the feedback. Now who's got some ideas for suspension??? Coil-overs vs. springs, where to find sway bars, which brands are good, etc. I need all the help I can get.

PS....I love this freakin forum....it's so convenient.

I would say srpings and shocks. Forget coilovers (I know I'm gonna get reamed for this). Most people get Eibach Spings, either the pro-kit or sportlines. Check the site...

I agree with melo72, shocks and springs will give you a better ride, if you care about that. Coilovers are bouncy and a lot stiffer than springs. It all depends what you want, if you want to "slam" your ride then get coilovers, if you don't want to slam it and just get rid of the wheel gap and not sacrafice the ride get springs. IF you drop 1-1.5" is not imperative you get shocks, but if you go with 1.7" or more drop you may want to get new shocks. You can check out prices at www.shox.com they seem to be reasonably priced.

unless you get true coilovers which are really expensive (at least usually more than $800)...you are better off getting a spring/shock combo...do not waste your time with coilover sleeves and shocks...even with that setup it will still be bouncy and ride quality sucks...take it from my experience...if you want to lower your car get eibachs either the prokit or the sportlines...if you want you can buy my sportlines
