Has anybody used a universal muffler to replace the gigantic and probably very heavy original muffler (I have a '98 2.3CL)? If so, what kind? The cold air intake part seems like a no-brainer but I'm currently in info overload with these universal exhausts. I don't know what any of them sound like until they're on my car. The rest of the piping on this car looks so good (it's bone dry in Calgary a lot of the time and there's very little undercarriage rust on this car) that I don't see much point in going with the extra expense of a catback.

delete the resonator, high flow cat, flowmaster muffler...you are set

 

highflow cat won't do anything for you, it'll harm more then help unless you are running serious mods

 

yea dont remove any of the already lacking torque !
