Just wanted to know how much you passport owners bought the radar for and if 259 shipped is a good deal. I purchased it from this fellow on the vette forums who is just starting out a new electronics business.

 

With the short burst ladar that they have come out with, there is no radar detector on the market that I know of that will pick that up. I don't even know if a radar detectors is worth it right now.

 

I have the 8500 hard wired with the smart cord and I love it. I have picked up some short burst of laser but only from cops with motorcycles. Unlike Ka, K, and X band, the laser with go off and warn you full blast when it even picks up a glimpse of it. The Ka, K and X increase their intensity as the threat gets greater. Anywho, the thing is nice its never failed me yet for the past two years.

 

What is this short burst thing? I have yet to hear about it. BTW i have an Escort Solo and its been great.
