i used the search but couldn't find any results so.... i was am painting my mud guards to match my white car and was curious if i need to use the flexible paint or even if anyone else has any instruction on the best method on how to do this. as of right now, i am going to paint a few coats of primer, a few coats of white paint, and then a few coats of lacquer. sound right??? thanks in advance for any help.

I've got nothing for ya as far the process goes, but I would think you would want something flexible/durable since the guards aren't all that rigid and they take a pretty good beating down there...

just take them off! but if u want to paint them, clean them good, sand them down, go to a pep boys and get bulldog adhesive promotor/felx coat. put that on, follow with about 5-6 coats of paint that matches ur car, sand slighty in bewteen coats with very fine sand paper and finally put 3-5 clear coats on sanding in bewteen. then ull get baby ass smooth paint job. i did my side skirts this way and they survived everything over the last 2 years. salt rocks etc. but i would just take the mud guards off!!!!!!

sorry, but I'm not sure how its done, but i got mine painted...i took my car to a good bodyshop and they painted the skirts, mud guards, and license plate bracket. I got it done for free, so I'm really happy, but definately get some special primer (maybe like that stuff from pep boys or something), cause they will take a beating.

take them to a shop..they can't possibly charge that much!!
