that sucks. i thought maybe if i used 1000 grit or maybe even 2000 it would come out. i dont know whats under that crappy "home job" and maybe it IS buffable.
if i were to get the whole quarter panel painted, how much are we talking here? there is also a small spot on the trunk that is 100% overspray. very small.
this question is seperate from the quarter panel... could claybar get rid of overspray?

no, i just bought the car a week ago and this is how it came. i have no idea if it is spray paint or what. if i use clay-bar and it doesnt work, i guess i can try wetsanding it. then again, i have no clue if any of this is going to fix it cause i dont know whats under this. i could be wasting money for no result and possibly making it worse. yet, at the other end of the spectrum, i dont want to have it painted when i could have fixed it for cheaper ya know.
i was looking at how much of the body it would be if i were to have it painted. as you all know, it goes to the mid-lower quarter panel all the way up and around the window to the hood. that would be an expensive job. or i could take it to some cheap-o place and have it done for 50 bucks. would turn out like crap though.
i am going out of town for a week and when i get back, i am going to take it to a paint shop and get their advice/price and go from there.

just playin around guys.. i have seen some really nice work from a spray can before.
no comparison but i know someone who bought some 6k rims and they were crome. 3 months after buying them, he sanded them down and spray painted them black. turned out very very nice and looked better than the crome. i asked him how much he paid for the cans of paint and he said about 100 bucks for 4 cans. that simply amazed me, then again, good paint comes in all forms i guess.
