Question Option for aftermarket alarm

Wud up people,

I have autostart along with the factory alarm but you how the stock alarm is...almost pointless. What would be the way to go setting this up?

Option 1 - keep factory alarm/autostart and just add a shock sensor
If I was to do this, would I have to carry 2 remotes?

Option 2 - Get a whole new aftermarket alarm system w/ autostart
Problem is this could be expensive since I just don't want a cheap alarm

And no, havin a pitbull isn't an option

Any recommendations fellas?

well if you add a shock sensor to the factory alarm that you are already currently using then there won't be a problem at all. you'll just have to disarm it before you start it, but you probably have to do that anyways. what kinda autostart do you have?

You have to have an alarm that can disarm the factory alarm and you only carry the aftermarket key fob. If you don't integrate it together like that, then your stock alarm will re-arm itself after you disarm it and go off when it sees the car is running.

'Yes officer that overcooked man right there tried robbin me'

Then again, that only works if your in the car but I'm sure you can wire it to the alarm

i gotta compustar alarm...they kept the stock alarm siren too and added the compustar one too...so its kinda distinguishing since when my alarm goes off, u hear 2 alarms...its kinda cool...

i was thinking of getting the autostart...it was a $100 add-on but i figured where i live i don't really need it...honestly unless u live somewhere cold that gets alot of snow or something its not necessary...i see u live in MA, so i guess it might be a good idea...

altogether i spent $250 for alarm with install...

that's really cheap. and dood if you live in canada, get the remote start, so you can warm your car up when you get slammed with snow, don't have to worry about that for another 5-6 months though

That's like the only benefit of having an auto is being able to get remote start without any hassal.

http://www.compustar.com/security.htm

i have the 1W900FM-A model

i chose it over Clifford because apparently Compustars are rated better in terms of features.

everybody's got a Compustar alarm and starter combo where i live, Canada.
But I chose an Innosys Echo alarm instead.
Doesn't have as many options as the compustar tho.
I would recommend the compustar cause i had never heard a complaint about it ever. Best one I know of.
