optimal spring rates?

I found a site that explains the effect of suspension changes, etc... There must be some formula that you can calculate the correct spring rates needed for our car depending on weight and everything...this site explains the effects of tinkering with the suspension http://www.wtrscca.org/tech.htm... Im not quite sure what i read, but if there is an increase of front spring rates only, it says increasing understeer or reducing oversteer, so how will i know if i increase the spring rate which one will actually occur? Can someone explain this? I want to reduce the understeer in the car

ughh......thats kinda the same thing......it depends on how your car behaves before modification

read the site you posted...your answer is there.

if you want to decrease understeer in your car...you need to increase the effective spring rate your car has in the rear, you can accomplish that via a number of ways......tire pressure, spring rates, antiroll bar etc.....
