only took thirty minutes.

i finally got a buffer from a friend, spent ten minutes wet sanding with one thousand five hundred grit and ten minutes on each head light buffing with the electric buffer.

1500 Grit Sand Paper
Meguiars Plastic X
9" Buffer

I am very happy.

Before.

After. Right and Left.

Looks hella better

But I don't understand how your lens got so bad to begin with?

Fortunately my headlights still look brand new (clear no haze).

well.i can post the steps.

semi DIY.

i used 1500 grit sand paper and very soapy water. dishwahsre soap and water. you will know how much by sticking your fingers in the water and it will be very slippery when you rub your fingers together. i cut the sand paper sheet in half so it made two small squares, easier to hold. i soaked the halves in the soapy water for about five minutes. i put some of the soapy water solution in a spray bottle and sprayed and sanded at the same time, be sure to use alot of soapy water. sanded it til it looked faded, but smooth. after that i applied the polish and buffed multiple times. apply polish, buff until semi clear, wipe off, repeat until you reach desired clarity.

heres a DIY i followed.

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2485084

skipped some steps.

i was gunna say that, down here in florida most headlights look like that. my headlights were just as bad when i got the CL, and the ones on my dad's 03 sonata look terrible already. on the other hand my mom's infiniti headlights are glass and look brand new.

what do you guys put on the freshly sanded lens to protect it? stock the plastic lens comes glazed in glass but that cracks and wears away with time. if you just sand/polish and dont put any protectant they will get real bad again in no time.

I must say that this is the best thing i could have done to my headlights. I mean they went from to . I went out and brought all that stuff right after work and went to do it. It only cost about $25 and its worth every penny. This guy saw me cleaning mines and said he would give me $50 if i could get his to look like that. I'm bout to start a little headlight cleaning busines. Thanks man.
