OMG!!! A Carbon Fiber Hood for First Gen on Ebay!!
Hello Everyone,
Some of you may have seen this already but I was scrolling through all the Acura CL related items and came across this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1860249350
The seller just started selling but the photo of the hood looks exactly like our hoods.
Who's going to be in on this first? We've all heard of Hoods in the making but here is an actual one.
Just though I let those who didn't see it be able to see it.
Later,
James

I dunno. The seller has rating of 0, doesn't give a web site or a weight, and uses bad English. I'd be a little weary, although if you pay w/ a credit card you're protected.

I ask the seller of the auction this question:
dcsquirm88@hotmail.com wrote:
Hi. Is the hood 100% carbon fiber or was fiberglass used to make it?
Also if you have more of these hoods for sale you should set up a group buy at www.acura-cl.com (in the 1st gen forum) there's atleast 10 or more people that would be interested in a CF for around $300. Let me know thanks.
His reply was:
the top layer is carbon fiber but the lower part need to use fiber glass other wise is not strong !
I guess they are not interested in a group buy. And since when is a CF/fiberglass hood better than an all CF hood?

i mean honestly guys....i get the idea about all c/f....but heres the real deal....unless youre pro NIRA etc etc....theres no need for all c/f....fiberglass is light shit anyway, so aslong as youre getting the good looks of c/f....the durability of fiberglass...and the overall weight reduction of a lighter hood....youre fine....for 300, i say do it
