What is the OHM rating on our speakers? On the sticker on the bottom of the stock radio there is a picture of a speaker and under it is says 4.0 ohms, but does that mean the speakers are 4 ohm?

The reason I ask is I took my deck to be installed today, it was going to cost me 65.00. The install guy came out and was like oh, well Bose is all proprietary and the speakers are 1 ohm and your deck (alpine 7897) will burn up or soemthing. He then told me that I needed to buy new speakers and that it would cost me hardly anything and improve my sound quality 10 fold. well he told me which ones I needed but the cost was like 375 for the speakers and install, on top of the 65 I paid for install of the deck. The 6.5 door speakers sound like shit, the 6x9's are pretty nice they are alpines.

 

Get the infiniti kappa's. 695.3 and 65.3 They're a little expensive but sound great. They're 3 way speakers. You can even go with the infiniti 2-ways which also sound good and like 50 bucks a pair cheaper.

 

Actually I bought speakers today, but when I saw that 4 ohm sticker I was just wondering if that is teh ohm rating fo our speakers becasue I had no intention of spending 370 for speakers today. I want to know the ohm rating because, if the bose speakers are in fact 4 ohm I am going to take the car back and have teh stock speakers put back in and get a refund on the ones I bought. I normally wouldnt do this but I just lost my job and felt like I was royally screwed today
