OBX TB Spacer review

well i got sick and tired of waiting for someone to sell a used helix power tower off of v6p, i was looking for the version 1 which was the noisy one. i didnt want the new and quiet V2. after waiting a couple of months i found that the obx one has the same thread pattern. i bought it as soon as i found that out. it came in the mail today when i got home around 6. i started after a quick bite at 630. it was really easy to get the tb off, the only time consuming thing was scraping the old gasket off with a razor, which only took about 5 min. the bolts supplied wernt long enough, so i went down to the store and got some longer ones. i put it all back together. i also reset the ecu. i was very anctious to start it up. i did it, i didnt notice any difference. i started driving, and wow.... when did i get a turbo?? lol i guess you can say it kinda sounds like a BOV. its pretty sweet. im not trying to make people think i have a turbo, so i just told my friends it was my new intake filter. ill get some pix and vids up tomorrow. its supposed to give you better gas mileage also, so we will see about that. one thing i do notice now is that when i go about 25 and floor it, it shifts down and it will chirp the tires. im not saying this mod alone did that, but this with my old mods have really made my car turn into a beast...but still no vette

I know what you mean. I have the Helix v1. and CAI. That noise is loud, and shoulds like a turbo.

nice, I have the V2 helix on mine and it whistles pretty good at 35% throttle between 2k-3.5k rpms. If I go WOT up to 60 mph and let off the gas kinda fast it sounds like a BOV. I am visiting a shop soon to get a quote on teh downpipe for a turbo setup.

You guys should have bought the tubinator, it was cheaper than the TB spacer, and has about the same effect, minus the noise.
