its a bad idea to replace the steering wheel, especially if you get into an accident and it could've saved your life =/

There's instructions over at the v6 forum. Here's a quick one for you. But make sure you look it up. Cause i might have left parts out that i don't remember.

Make sure your steering wheel is centers and straight

You'll need to unplug the negative battery terminal. let it sit for a few mintures first.

then unplug the airbag from the bottom of the steering wheel.

use a hex screw bit to remove the two screws on the side of the airbags. Now you could remove the airbag.

Using a breaker bar, remove that center bolt holding the steering down.

To remove the steering wheel you could either start pulling it toward you or go rent a steering wheel puller.

Once its removed, there's the srs controller (black thing with a ribbon cable, i think) I think there's either 3 or 4 screws holding that down. Remove that controller.

Now just install the hub, quick release and new steering wheel on.

If you want to run the horn, you'll need to tap into one of the wires on this harness that has three wires. And run it to your new hub. I believe its the green/blue one but that's just from the top of my head. I'm not too sure. You'll need to look up the wiring diagram for that. I don't have it with me right now.

It saves the lives of the dumb shits that dont wear seat belts. I've had the airbag come out like 4 times throughout my life. It just burns the shit out of you. Seat belts saves lives. Airbags, well, they arent gonna save you at low speeds unless you're not wearing a seat belt. And at high speeds, well you're fucked anyways without a seat belt.

WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT!

Airbags come out at speeds over 250mph. If you're too fucking close to the steering wheel cause you're a midget, it can kill you, or cause serious injury. I believe if under a certain height, you can take your airbags off legally by a professional. My ex's mom was like 4'6" and had hers taken off legally.

To get the horn to work, you just need to tap into one wire and just run a ground wire. Like I have mentioned above, the wire is blue with the green line on it. But not i'm 100% since I'm in Chicago right now and ride is back in CA.

One more then. For the ground, you don't really need to run a wire. I just use a piece of metal and mounted on one of the screws on the column. The metal piece touches the part on the steering wheel that's for a ground.

wow... big misunderstanding... I was being sarcastic cuz i thought he meant 25 mph ... so if you are going 25mph the airbag will come out if u get in a wreck...

but i get what you are saying now... me

Airbags for the most part deploy at head on accidents over 10mph. I dont know the exact number because I have had a lot of friends that have been in accidents at 30mph and the airbag didnt deploy. I've been in wrecks under that and it deployed. So I guess it's has to do with the angle at which you crash at as well??? Anyways, yes, the airbags come at you at 250mph. Not sure what speeds they come at now a days with all the new cars that came out.

The front airbags still come out around 200 MPH which is an industry standard, the curtain air bags come out slower I believe because they drop down. And it all depends on the car as to when they go off, they rely on crush zones to trigger the chemical reaction that deploys the bags, and that only happens when the frame or specific impact zones in the front are affected.
