Not really pertinent...
As the thread title implies...this is not really pertinent on this forum. But, it may help me out, and anyway, there isnt that much going on here, so this thread will be something to spend your time while bored looking at. I currently have a 3.0cl. It has around 110,000 miles. It is in nice condition, and my aunt, the previous owner took insane care of it. To start out..How much do you think she is worth? It is premium by the way. I am sick of being jealous of people drving stick, because I am 16, and I work hard for my money, so I should drive what I want. I have been thinking civic for a long time, and that is my reasonable side talking. Now my other side is telling me 2nd gen eclipse gs-t or gsx, with around 85,000 miles. Or Integra GS-R. I like the gs-r being all motor, I have no idea how to drive a turbo car, or how turbo works in the least...of someone wants to give me a link itd be appreciated. So what do you guys think? Are eclipses crap, do they have anything about them I should know? What do you guys think I should be doing? Also, if anyone knows the GSX is AWD, but it says 0-60 is same as GS-T. Wouldnt it be faster? If not, which one do you guys think is better. Thanks alot to anyone who can help. If you dont want to post, dont.
I know. My friend has an auto 2.x and it shifts so rough, when slowing to a stop it shakes when shifting. Mine shifts nice and smooth..but I know its a ticking time bomb, so I am trying to stay away.
the thing with Eclipse turbo's is that alot of things break when you dump money performance wise. i have 2 friends with turbo eclipse/talon. everytime i asked them how there cars were doing something was broken. granted these were 250+whp cars, so something is bound to go wrong sooner or later.
i would go with the GSR depending on what area you live in.

Yeah GSR if you want to go all motor. IIRC from my brief Integra days the GSR has a high compression ratio which doesn't lend well to turboing. Maybe a reggae (regular for those not in the restaurant biz) Integra might be better cause of it's lower CR if you want to go the F/I route, plus you can also do the LS/VTEC swap. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

...On the serious side, it depends on the location where you live, the condition of the Eclipse vs. Teg, what had been done to both of them, what are you looking for in the car (reliable daily driver or a tuner's project), any known symptom/quirks at the car's age (do research, i didn't so now i'm ended up with my sick [read trouble-proned] car.... i still love it though)...etc.
You're 16, driving a fast car is just begging the popo to give you a ticket. Just have fun in a pimpin car (no ricey lambo doors and stickers please...) If you are willing to learn about turbos and cars then go with the turbocharged one, if not then i'd say save your headache and get the NA one...
About the eclipse, i've heard bad things about the electrical system and huge $$$ gone into repairing it... so get as much info as possible before you decide... of course hondas are no exceptions but Honda's reliable reputation far surpasses that of Mitsu...
I know my answers are all jumbled but i just had a 3-hour sleep, two cups of coffee in the morning and just finished the second Red Bulls to boost so now i can't really concentrate.....
Good luck..

Teg, fuck an Eclipse, they are pretty but man, POS is off the scale.
The GS-R will be a good dependable car. At least if it was taken care of. As for the 3.0, if your trans is still smooth, make sure the service is up-to-date, and DO NOT FLUSH. Have the mechanic do a drain-and-fill. These transmissions aren't bad if you take care of them.

If you want to learn about turbocharging and you like to read pick up Maximum Boost. It is a great book for anyone trying to learn about turbocharged vehicles. It is as basic as how a turbo works to as indepth as designing a turbo system. It is a must have book for anyone wanting to learn about turbochargers.
Stay away from DSM...
The GSR would be tempting, but unless you have full coverage insurance, I would stay away from that.. Its too much of a target.
To be honest with you, I would keep the CL out of those choices. Its a "nicer" car than the other options you listed. It may not be as fast, but it rides a lot nicer. You don't want to be like some people and complain about getting caught doing donuts and getting a ticket for it, when it could have been avoided.......

all the cars you mention here, asks for trouble.
For one, nobody has told me what they think my CL is worth. Also, I live in a small town in wisconsin, and the only thing I would do with the GS-R would be change shift boot and knob...maybe a few bolt ons...so I am not worried about it getting stolen. OK, so what I am hearing is the Eclipse is a waste of money because it is not reliable and alot of things go wrong with it. But what about the GS-R? I am not keeping the CL, I need stick, anyway I just did an MPG test, it gets 17 from mostly city, some highway...thats awful.

they want that badass 170hp b18 to drop in their civic.
personally, i would go the stupid "it cant happen to me" route and get it anyway (i actually almost bougt a 94 gsr before i got my cl), but i just thought you might want to know that...

interior, exterior parts, suspension, performance mods, drivetrain, anything they can in a small amout of time. then they dump the car off in some adandoned industrial area in north jersey.
I'd go with the teg. I may not know much about cars in general and I may not know much about the brands of cars, but I will ALWAYS say: "it's still a mitsub" to any of them that are put in front of me.

if i had the $$$$ i would love to have a DSM side project. i would have the guidance from 2 of my friends like i said.
i would make it my mission to find a Galant VR4.

and like what everybody is saying here. it really doesn't matter where you live at these days. people will steal. another thing is that you say that ure going to put a shift knob and etc. but when u lose a race then more stuff goes in. then shit gets expensive.

I'd keep the CL and build on it, or go GSR
