Is This Normal? HELP?
So I got new rims on my car, which were D-Power TS-06 17x7 inch rims, I think they are part of the Dronell brand, with 215/45-17 Kumho's, which leaves a decent amount of rubber. I had them for 5 days and was driving home two nites ago through downtown Atlanta on West Peachtree, going about 40 and hit one of their beautiful potholes.
Right away, the right side of the car went to the right. I pulled over and looked and my right front was bent and the tire was practically off of it and my rear right was deflated. When I took them off, I saw that my right front rim was shattered badly and cracked to pieces, with large gaps in between the cracks. I've never seen metal separate so easily and so much. The rear wheel also had a crack running around the entire rim.
Now, I went back and looked at the pothole and it wasn't great, but wasn't the worst thing that I have seen. And I watched some cars go over it with stock rims and be fine. Should a rim shatter so easily and will I have any luck claiming that the rim was deficient to the credit card company and the store I got it from. Unfortunately, the store is in Cali and I am in Atlanta. What should I do?

I had the same thing happen to me. Without the tire, you could see all the way through the crack in the wheel.
I have State Farm and they covered everything including shipping the new wheel, a rental car, tire, mount & balance, and four wheel alignment.
Cant beat it.

It's hard not to admit it because aside from the cracks, the front rim is bent in nicely and rear has a small dent in it. The place I got it from (wheeloptions.com) told me to send them some pictures of it and they'll see what they can do. I also called VISA and told them to hold payment on this, just in case. I took pictures of the pothole, and of cars driving over it, just to prove my point that it wasn't that bad. What should I tell the store?
