Night Pics of Hella Yellowstars
These look far better than the daytime pics of course...but still not impressed. The passenger side is not as yellow as the driver's side, but pretty close. Also notice in the overhead shot the slight purple emission close to the bumper - this is from the dichronic application to the bulb surface. The bulb is actually slightly purple when not on and you will notice this when the bulb is in the fog light housing.

Yep, looks like you got Yellowstars alright. The light output looks the same from both sides and it looks just like the rest of the 20 or so bulbs we did today.
If you want the lights themselves to look yellower, you'll have to go for PIAA Ion Crystals and Ion Yellows. However, you'll also have to live with dimmer light as well since they have more of a dichroic coating on them. Check out my side by side comparison here: http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...highlight=PIAA
If you want everything to be completely yellow like a Lexus or a Benz, you'll have to get foglights that have an amber lens.

Looks pretty good I really like your PIAA headlights.
Not trying to take your topic but someone said it is bad for your digital cameras opitics or something like that to take pics of headlights? is that true?

Hey JCG,
Check the boxes on your Yellowstars... if one says made in Korea and the other says made in Germany, contact silverSurfer & he'll send you a matching set.

I thought they would be yellower...
They are called yellowstars right? Do they cut through fog like the ion yellow PIAA's do? The yellower the light, the better it works in bad weather. That output looks just as white as any other bulb. Maybe it's your camera.
I have not installed my bulbs cause I just got them and the weather is bad but I thought they would be closer to a yellow color

They're not as yellow as the PIAAs but they're much brighter. I haven't had a chance to use the Yellowstars in fog yet, but my PIAAs were so dim that they're pretty much useless. They do look cool though. :P

For the $11 I paid I can't complain.
Now I have to start saving for PIAAs if I want my whole front end to match up, that's what I was going for.... Soo frikin overpriced!

Yea, these bulbs are not that yellow and do not offer much fog cutting advantage. The stock H3 bulbs I think are better than these.
If you want great yellow lamps, PIAA's 1500, 510, and 959 Ion Crystal lamps are awesome. Hella's new FF 100 and 200 amber lamps are great to.
My choice: 959 Ion Crystal - my brother had these in his Audi - simply amazing.

I found this yesterday, it's too cool. Click on comparing the driving, fog, & xenon lamps.
