newbie, what to look for when buying one.
I just sold my car and I'm interested in find a CL to buy. Good gas mileage. Pretty reliable from what I read of how much you guys like them.
What is there to look for when I'm looking at used ones? I'm interested in 97s, I want to save money if possible.
Thanks guys.

Well I've come a Ford background, so transmissions is one thing that I'm used to. Is the transmissions in this car a big enough deal that I should avoid a certain year? Avoid the car altogether? I've already gone through like 4 transmissions in other cars.
What is the average price for a rebuild on an Acura? I paid like $1700-1900 for a rebuild on the Fords. Not cheap, not fun.
Thanks guys.

The year of the car doesn't make a difference regarding the tranny. Just be sure that you drive the car cold and you should be able to tell if it is bad or going to need replacement. I needed to get a rebuilt one a few months ago. Cost about $2800 for everything w/ a tranny cooler. I got lucky cause when I bought the car, I got a warrenty from AAA which covered the entire cost.
