Just a side note - as per the pic above - you don't want to disconnect it from the engine side, but rather the other end as you want the engine to suck it in.

I did this a while back and a couple days later my check engine light came on (EGR flow insufficient code). I'm thinking the EGR was partially clogged and when all that carbon came through some of it clogged and restricted flow enough to throw the code. I took it to the dealer and got the EGR fixed under the emissions warranty (I didn't mention the Seafoam). I would still recommend it. Just be aware that it could contribute to an EGR code, especially since EGR problems are common on our cars.

I've got the EGR code now, I'm hoping it'll clean it up! I guess I may have to do it twice.

your mechanic just might not be familiar with the brand name......neither was my mechanic. I told him it was a motor treatment and he was like, yeah yeah, we do that. He told me they charge 75 bucks to do it.

Talk to Klepto, maybe (hopefully) he'll make a DIY page on his site for this.

I just did this to my 98CL yesterday. Doesn't really feel any different now(Power or sound). I have 95K on the car and I'm sure there's plenty of carbon.

I have a few questions to all you car experts.

1. Is it just the seafoam that's making all the fumes or is it really the carbon?
2. If this is tried on a new clean car would it not smoke?
3. I only let the car sit for 5mins. Should I have let it sit longer?
4. Should I wait for a few miles to try it again?

I used the seafoam again because I wasn't sure if I did it right the first time.
A lot more thick fumes came out this time but now the car shakes at idle. I also have a EGR flow insufficient code.(EGR problem was there before the seafoam)
Could I have some of the carbon that got loose now stuck in the EGR that's causing this idle problem or could it be the spark plugs?
The Plugs, Cap and rotor were replaced at 90K.(5K ago).
Anybody else had this issue after a seafoam treatment?

^ Read the first page. I believe in V6 performance the guy said to let your car sit for 3-5 hours ( the longer the better ) then turn your car on and watch it dust your neighbors houses, kill their grass, and leave destroy their plants.

Yeah, at 180K you have a lot of carbon build up, I think you could do it.

that can looks like a can of shaving cream
