Question New used CL, first things to do?

I'm gonna be getting a 98 CL and was wondering what maintenance I should perform on it immediately. I know that the brakes and tires are new. This is what I think (it has 70,000 miles on it btw):

1. Get seafoam cleanser, clean the hell out of that sucker.
2. Replace plugs with NGKs
3. Oil / filter change, mobile 1 synthetic of course

What else should I check?

Also, I'm gonna get Nokya Arctic headlamps, get a stock spoiler put on, and get some tints. Car is going to get painted too, just debating what color (a nice grey, nice black, or some metallic of grey/black). Input on anything is much appreciated.

Thanks.

try to figure out of your timing belt has been replaced sound like your on a good path already. Do a search there are a few things that might be hinted if it was changed. YOu still got another 30k miles for it needs service but you should start saving ahead of time it can get pretty costly. YOu should call acura to see if your ignition switch has ben replaced by them on the recall. If its not take it in and they will do it for free.

Get clear corners, sand your headlights down if they are old looking and throw some HIDS on it. Cold AIr intake (94-97 Accord will fit), wheels, ceramic brakes and your good to go. I replaced my speakers with the new Rockford Fosgates and it sound like I have a damn sub!!

I would see how it's running. Mine has 100,000 on the original plugs and runs like a top. Obviously, change the oil, but the timing belt can wait. Check to see what dealer service is due at 80,000... But in general, if it's running well, why not leave well enough alone?

I was thinking black, but a nice metallic grey would look nice with the black interior.

If it's an automatic, I recommend you check the transmission fluid, drain and refill if necessary. Then, get a transmission oil cooler, the Hayden model# OC-1677 will be perfect...about $40 on ebay, and its easy to install. If you'll drive the car pretty hard, get that cooler now, it WILL help in the future, just read some of the problems people have had with 1st gen. transmissions.

Funny you should mention CARFAX. I've had two subscriptions, the last of which just expired. Anyway, just before it ended, out of curiosity I checked out my wife's car (a '92 Mitsubishi) that we just sold... We'd owned the car for 5 years and CARFAX knew nojthing about this. It said it was a 1 owner car, when in fact we were at least the 3rd.

I'm not sure CARFAX is always that accurate.

Anyway, is the transmission fluid cooler really necessary for normal driving?

Also, has anyone tried these chrome grille kits on their CL?
