New Tranny

New Tranny
My transmission is really bad and needs some work. What do you guys think will be my best option. I could go for a rebuild, or I could get one out of a wrecked vehicle. The only reason I ask is because ive heard even after a rebuild the tranny will never really be the same again. What do u guys think?

It's a tough call. The tranny you get from the junkyard may be in worse condition than your rebuilt tranny.
Or; vice-versa.
Personally, I'd go with a used one with 30-40K miles or less.

I replaced mine with a rebuilt one. It runs much better. If you get someone who knows honda transmissions, you should be fine with a rebuilt one. One suggestion, GET A WARRENTY. Mine's covered up to 50K.

Don't care how good anybody is with honda trannys. A rebuilt tranny will never feel like a new tranny. You could buy a used one with 25-35k on it and be very happy with it. Sadly as dust figured out for use our trannys have about a 25-35% probably rate of failure. I'm not a big fan of rebuilds, except that you get warranty from the company.
