new exhaust and question

I got my exhaust today finally and I told them to put it to an angle so they had to go down a little with the pipe to make it jut out to an angle. But today i dont know if its me, or what. But all I think of is...If Im going to lower my car, will the exhaust pipe hit the ground when i go over speed bumps? And im afraid i wont be able to lower it alot just because of that. But here is a picture. Someone tell me if you have the same exhaust layout on your car. It looks JDMish.

it looks horrible, do you even know why these certain cars have angled exhaust setups? On that cars that really matter, they have it going out at an angle to reduce the bends required in the exhaust piping so that the spent gasses (usually from a turboed car) have less restrictions. This is why you see a lot of angled setups on evos, supras, etc.

Then there are the "JDM" ricers who merely imitate this look. Along with the horrible fads of huge ass wings on FWD cars, fake intercoolers, HP increasing chips and type-R emblems. Sadly, you fall under the latter group.

I dont even understand how this is a good exhaust setup?

Take my setup for example (i have a 2.x as well) the exhaust setup is like this (mad ms paint skillz)

yet, to acquire your desired "angle exhaust" is your setup like this?

that's restricts it even more

I think the term "'nuff said" can apply here. I'm not in love with the no-name muffler either, I'm sure the system has a nice, ridiculously loud obnoxious sound as well.

This always gets me too, but klepto's right, the way his exhaust is run is more restrictive, I just can't believe he cut a diagonal hole in his bumper

I take back my original comment, that diagram and noticing that jagged cut in the bumper has left me a bit ill feeling. Did ya cut the bumper with a hammer?

hahahah you mean the caddy cl? man...

yeah not feelin it. i mean mostly cause you had to cut a wierd lookin hole for your exhaust. but to answer your question. my exhaust pipes are nicely installed and i still hit speed bumps. just depends how low you go. of course you can spend the money getting a magna flow and so you dont have that coffee can exhaust. but if thats your forte then so have you

YOU CAN'T MAKE AN ACURA CL JDM!!!@!!!@!!!!

It isn't even remotely possible!

btw you can't not fall into the ricer category simply because you don't like the idea of it... you have one of the hugest fart cans going... either way it is going to be considered ricey by people dude, no offense.

is there a rule saying acura CL's cant be JDM?? How come Acura Integras can and hondas can but not CL's. Wat makes it diff? its still a dammn honda. Thats bullshit. I came from a civic that was turbo to bullshit CL's who claim they got the best cars and make fun of peoples cars when they like it and its not even theres. Enough said. I dont want to start an arguement. Im going to act my age.

The difference between CL's and other hondas is that... the CL was never made in Japan, hence why it cannot be JDM, it has no JDM equivalent. It was designed and produced in the US. Civics can be JDM, Integras can be JDM, but that is because they were all made in japan as well. JDM =Japanese Domestic Market... Acura CL = USDM (US Domestic Market) AKA Not ever made in Japan.

I'm not trying to bust your balls, i'm simply informing you.

The difference is Acura CLs WERE NOT MADE IN JAPAN. EVER. There is NO "JAPANESE DOMESTIC MARKET" CL.

Buy an Accord or a Civic if you want JDM. Our cars were made in Ohio. They even came with a sticker on the window saying so.
