Youre gonna need a new deck if you want a totally new system anyways. B/c your stock deck doesnt have any RCA's. To get the deck out...you need to remove the plastic trim around it, then there are two plugs...one for the clock and one for the hazzards that you need to unplug, then a couple of screws and you should be good.

Take a small, flat-head screwdriver and pry the trim ring that surrounds your headunit, clock, hazard switch and storage compartment (under your headunit). Be gentle. Once the trim ring is loose, unplug your clock and hazard switch, and remove the trim ring.

Shine a flashlight under the storage compartment (under your head unit). You should see two screws/bolts. Undo these bolts, and the entire headunit/storage compartment (along with support/mounting bracket) will pull out a little. Unplug the antena and wiring harness, and pull the unit out.

That's for the '98/'99 models.

I don't know why they list it as instructions for the '97 model.

you dont have to get a new deck there is some way to do it(i have no clue how) On my integra i had before, it had the exact same stock deck... and my friend hook an amp to my stock deck. i mean if you want a good system get a new deck but otherwise stock is free. He found a wire diagram of the cd player on the internet( seaarched couldn't find it but if you do a hard search maybe) thats how he Knew where to put the remote wire. other than that im in the same boat u are. I got no money but i got two subs in a box and a amp.

I had my stock head unit hooked up to an aftermarket amp and aftermarket speakers (Infinity components in the front, 6x9's in the rear deck, and 2 JBL 12" subs in the trunk) for about 2 years. I did all of this using the stock wires. It can be done.

However, my same setup with an aftermarket head unit is like night and day as compared to the stock head unit.
