need some help

I did a search on taking out the wood grain and i know its quite a pain in the ass. Is it possible to take out the stereo (since its a 97 i don't have to rip the console out) and access the screws for the long piece from there? any thoughts?

yup. that is how you do it. I played with taking it off to remove the climate control (going to redo the boring green illumination with white leds...never finidhed it) and you can get to the 2 scerws by removeing the radio, and to get to the one on the far passengers side you'll need to remove the glove box.

the first few steps show you how to get the glove box out, you can ignore the rest unless you want to take it all out

hope this helps in some form
