Need a lil help guys
Alright, well, I will first have to say, WesMan, you might be right. Anyways, So i posted a thread before which talked about my car idling erratically. Well, I went out to my car today, turned it on, and just sat in front of the engine watching. What it turns out to be is the condenser fan in the front. First of all I only saw one of them working. And, the one that was working seemed as if it was confused, it would turn on, then turn off five seconds later. Everytime the fan turned back on, this made my engine shake, because it would do it so often. It seems as if It doesnt know if it needs to cool down the radiator or not. Could this be the thermostat malfunctioning? Also, could the thermostat malfunctioning also cause my air to not work correctly since these fans may not be cooling down the condenser correctly. I have noticed though, that my engine temperature has stayed constantly in an acceptable zone (slightly below halfway).

as the compressor cycles, it turn on the fan as it turns on... it sounds like somethins up with the a/c.. could be overcharged.. or could be air in the system.. can you hear a clicking noise as the fan turns on and off. if so thats the compressor.. if the compressor is constantly stayin on then i think its the collant temp switch. (theres 2, one for the computer and fan , and another one for the guage.) the one for the guage has 1 wire on it.. the one for the computer/fan has atleast 2 wires. i would start by gettin the a/c evacuated, and recharged from scratch. to eliminate the possibility of over or under charge. then if that dont fix try the fan temp switch. if you know for sure that the fan that is cycling is the condensor fan then the a/c pressure or compressor is at fault. good luck pimp.

I still don't think it is your thermostat. If that were it, the temp would be much higher, (stuck shut) or it would take for ever to warm up (stuck open). In any case, the problem is in the a/c system. If you are certain that the compressor and system are charged properly, and you are certain that the compressor is cycling then you could also have a problem with the expansion valve. If it is not relieving the high flow preasure side with expansion, then that valve could be stuck in an almost closed position. If this is the case, you will have to have the system evacuated, the valve replaced, then recharged to propper poundage. The whole gambit of probabilities have been explored between myself, wilp99 and llwessman. so, pick your poison and start checking these things off. start with the easiest and roll to the more complex. The expansion valve would be on the easier side, the sensors would be on the more difficult side. either way, a rough idle is certainly a sign of a definate problem.

If it would make any difference, or matter at all, when I feel the low pressure side, near the valve where you recharge the system, this is supposed to be COLD, because this is of course the refrigerant here which is cooling the system, however, feeling it today, it was only cool at best. Maybe that will narrow this down?

Yes, that sounds like it could be a problem with the expansion valve. It is too bad that our cars don't use the expansion orifis tube setup. It is more reliable, but less efficient. I still think you should check that if the compressor is actually charged and functioning.
