i just bought some 17s for my car and i was wondering what size tires i need. when i read the noob guide it says i would need something like 225/40 17 but when i check that on tire size calculator it says that it would be 3.18 too fast? so what should i do?

3.18 too fast? 225/40/17 should be fine, it depends on the rim width. What rims or width rims did you get?

I would go 245/45/17. It will put you out +1.0%. The 245/40 is 4.4%. I think the slightly larger tire would fill the wheel well out much better when slammed. I dont know if you are going to get any rub with the taller tire, but that depends on how low you go. I always like the idea of more rubber between your wheels and the road. AKA look at what happened to davzilla.

should is a relative term though.

I was running that size on my BB1, and i was rubbing quite often. My drop is retarded though. It's dependent on how low you are.
