Need help from H22 owners
I recently blew out mytiming belt going up a big hill and apparently did some damage to the valves. the mechanic came back with a $2,300 dollar qoute after a top end replacement and water pump, timing belt. etc. I'm thinking for that price I should just get a crate motor thrown in, and basically start fresh. Might as well drop and H22 in too. I need info on what all I need, as in all the extras, like tranny, ecu?, etc. Also any good and REPUTABLE crate dealers. There are too many to know where to start. HELP ME, please!

theier suppposed to be done at 105k miles. tho where you live makes a big difference, someone in ohio could run longer than someone from arazona, heat, humidity, basic weather can have an effect.. ive seen them go at 250k miles and ive seen them go at 40k. all depends. one of my friends has a prelude and he had 100k miles on it, and was driving on base 15mph and his broke and destroyed his valves. then we did the frankenstein g23 motor.

There were 110,xxx when it went out and the worst part its that I just had a total top end rebuild not 6,000 miles ago before my after market warrenty expired. I don't have hte paper work in front of me , but wouldn't you think that a timing belt would be part of that ? i'll have to look in to that, since the Idle Control Module that they replaced is broken again, and my RPMs are surging again. My hope was that someone fro maround Seattle/Tacoma could recommend a good shop that specializes in this stuff.... I know my mechanic could do it, but I'd rather have someone who specialized in this after market upgrade crap.
