Need help fast! Kenwood HU lost power...
So i was drivin down to irvine today and had the music up. All of a sudden the head unit just lost its power and stopped playing. All other accessories function normal: A/C, lights, heated seats, clock.... everything except the radio
The head is a Kenwood Excelon KDC56X. It came with the car when i bought it.
Anyone has any idea as to why the head just stopped? is it a loose connection or something? i'll open it up tomorrow and check the adapters... anyone experienced this before?

Would have to see the wiring job on it. First see if the fuses are ok, then check the ground, and then check your power supply. If all those seem ok then your deck is blown. Buy one off ebay.

how handsome I am
These kenwood headunits blow.
I've had to get mine repaired once already and im this close to having to either take it in and bite the bullet on cash or buy a new HU altogeher.

Sounds like you popped a fuse either on the back of the hu, or one of the 4, yes 4 radio fuses in the car, there are 2 in the fuse box by the pedals and 2 in the fuse box under the hood. When I blew mine and lost power, it was the one under the hood.

There is 1 in the kick panel and a backup, there are also 1 fuse and 1 backup in the eb too, the one that usually blows is the one in the eb

Update on the problem: The problem is fixed, no fuse blown, no loose wiring. The reason was because the copper connector from the datacheable faceplate was corroding so there was connection between the faceplate and the unit.
Lesson learned: Do not leave the radio faceplate where little cousins could pour juice on...
