Need help with 97 2.2 CL H22a swap

I havent been able to find any good information on the swap on the internet. I might not be looking in the right places. Can anyone help me out? I know it has been done just need some guidance. IE: motor mounts, shift linkage, changes in wiring harness ect. Thanks...

It depends on what motor you get, also you use all the motor mounts from ur car except there is a driversside motor mount that make the swap easier and you can find that at topendmotorsports.com its made by has port. there are 3 changes to9 the stock harness. 1 being for the vtec and i cant thing of the other 2 off the top of my head. anso you are going to have to get a obd harness depending on what motor you gee evasivemotorsports.com

Unless you are doing this yourself, find yourself a mechanic that know that a H22 is and ull be set. Most things are plug and play. Mounts match up (drivers side need to be shaved down a bit but if not still operational).. Harness needs a conversion to OBD1 with a reprogramed P13 which is your best bet. Powersteering needs some modifications (welding). You will require some exhaust piping welding by the downpipe. Minor things. No biggy. Enjoy the swap if you are serious about it.

thanks for the help. I was thinking of not doing the swap for a while because I couldnt find anything out. The guy I spoke with at has-port said he had never heard of the swap and had no mounts. Guess I talked to the wrong guy. I think I am going to get around the wiring issues with a stand alone ecu. Possibly AEM plug and play. Thanks again

you have to ask for the 94-97 accord mount. most people dont even know the cl is the same thing. also, i have most of a wiring harness left over from my frankenstein swap, if you or any one need any plugs ill get them to u free.+ shipping of course.

also i have the ultimate swap guide for what you need i just need your email address to get it to you.

wow youll love it when you get it in there. I miss the h22a i had in my 93 vtec prelude, thing was smooth and had decent punch, atleast in that car, ide like to hear how it feels in a cl compared to a 4th gen prelude, cause i know cls are quite a bit heavier. These engines are so much more fun though. 190 hp (200 for 5th gen h22) isnt a bad starting plateau, def a step up from the cl's kickerr.

enjoy!

Yea its just really long and i no scanner at my house. i would make copies and regular Mail them to you. Its something like 70 pages. walks you through step by step. from removel if the f22 to instal of the h22 to the wiring which tools you will need, what parts fit and what do not where to find certine parts, making the auto tensioner a manuel tensioner with all of honda's part numbers. Pictures and diagrams. Everything!!!!!!! i payed 20 bucks for it, i felt it was better then paying Hi-Tech Auto Salon $2500

Those sites are good, but everything is scattered. The most complete and correct info i have seen on the swap has been the Ultimate Resourse Guide: H22A Swap for 94-97 Accords. It is right on point in everyway. If you follow the directions you can not fuck up. Dont skip a part as little as it may seem do exactlly what it says. Very simple to follow and read and was layed out prefect. I have had my car since i was 16 and knew you could swap a h22 in it soon after i got my car and have been diiung the research ever since, if u want something easy to understand and straight to the point get the untimate resourse guide. You can get them on Ebay and at ultimateresourseguide.com it is copyrighted so we cant place it on the forum. (that would be nice)

The guide

Hey I got my 97 cl 2.2 recently and I was interested in doing the h22 swap also. I talked to hasport about the mounts and they also told me that the swap was a pain in the @!! If you could send me a copy of the guide I would really appreciate it. Birchmanjr13@yahoo.com.

i got a 2k1 h22a euro R in my cl .. all the mounts were the stock cl , i went with the h22 wire harness , run it obd2 the shift cables remained , the throttle cable was changed for a prelude ( bye bye cruise control ) no more p/s as the euro R has a single crank pully cuz it uses the eps ( electric power steering ) took out a/c also .. no more drag on the crank besides the alernator ( not that i didnt try to find a solution .. lol ) it s a pretty easy swap
